taylor burns

president & founder

Taylor is the Founder, President, and Director of Athletic Development at AHP. Taylor, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association has worked with athletes at all levels: from youth sports to the professional ranks.

A former college pitcher, Taylor's shoulder injury led him into the field of strength and conditioning. While he has a wide knowledge base, he specializes in program design, maximum strength and power development, post-rehab, and athletic performance.

Taylor spent four years, from 2012 to 2016 as the Co-Head Coach and Director of Strength and Conditioning for the Prospects Baseball Academy. He also spent four years, from 2015 to 2018 as the Head Coach of the 18U Edmonton Cardinals, who he guided to a 2016 Provincial Championship. Prior to that he served as the Associate Head Coach for the 18U St. Albert Cardinals, who he helped capture a 2013 Western Canadian Championship, a 2014 Provincial Championship, and a 2014 National Championship Runner-Up.

director of hitting development

Connor is the Director of Hitting Development, as well as the Co-Head Coach for the AHP Baseball Academy. He is also currently the Associate Head Coach for the Sherwood Park 18U AAA Dukes. Connor was the Assistant Coach for the Edmonton Collegiate Trappers for two years, from 2019 to 2021. Connor played college baseball for Garden City CC and then Emporia State University. Connor holds a Bachelor's of Science in Business Management.

ethan elias

associate Pitching Coordinator

Ethan is the Associate Pitching Coordinator, as well as the Co-Head Coach for the AHP Baseball Academy. Additionally, he is the Pitching Coach for the Edmonton Riverhawks of the West Coast League. He also is the Head Coach for the 18U Sherwood Park Dukes. Ethan was the Head Coach for the Edmonton Collegiate Trappers from 2017 to 2021. Ethan pitched professionally for seven years in the Chicago Cubs and Arizona Diamondbacks organizations, after being drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2011.

matt quartel

BASeball academy instructor

Matt Quartel played collegiately for the University of Milwaukee Panthers. Matt hit .277 with 5 home runs his senior season. His primary role with the academy is working with the hitters, outfielders, and catchers. Matt holds a Bachelor's of Science in Biochemistry, and is currently studying Medicine at the University of Alberta.

erik sabrowski

baseball academy instructor

Erik is currently a pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization. He was drafted by them in the 2018 MLB Draft after an All-American Season for Cloud County CC. During that season he posted a 7-2 record while recording 117 strikeouts in just 66 innings. He also hit .355 with 11 home runs and 58 RBI that year.
